Patience

Patience

I’ve always prided myself on how patient of a person I am and working with difficult clients is when I find I need my equanimity the most. I have a meeting with a client that is quickly proving to be a tough nut to crack. We have not been working together that long and I’ve already started finding difficulty pinpointing how we will get the most from our time together.

My ability to keep cool will help turn the potentially disastrous situation into something more pleasing. It’s the tough clients that teach us the most about our businesses and determine what kind of company we want to run for ourselves. Will we be chasing the money because that’s what pays the bills right now?

Or will we stand firm on our abilities and trust in the work we do? Because that’s the reason they hired us in the first place? Tough clients have a funny way of telling us there is more work to be done. Work that’s beyond just getting paid to complete an assignment. They are asking us to be problems solvers to that will help them change the way they see themselves and how that translates into how they run their business. So we should start there first.

Don’t F*ck It Up …

Don’t F*ck It Up …

business development, multiple streams of income, time management

You. And by “you”, I mean me. I’m starting to see the fruits of my labor. Clients are coming in. I’ve dedicated myself to having multiple streams of income, and it’s working. Beach And Main is attracting good talent, from which I can build a strong team. Now I just need to make sure I don’t fuck it up by mismanaging my time. But I’m figuring that part out. And onward I go.

Never. Stop. Doing.

Never. Stop. Doing.

Over time, we learn the skills we need to go after our goals. Getting to the “why” is where we’ll start to see momentum and gain clarity with our work. But we can’t just stop there.

Find time every day to learn new things that make us better in areas where we need to improve, and progress starts to become evident. Remember to use each lesson, be it from a success or a failure, and put it to work teaching others.

Use your growth to change the perception of others and guide them to discovering more about who they are. Show them how investing in themselves is well worth doing.

So, Never. Stop. Doing.

Keep Eye Contact. Speak Slow. Speak Clear.

Keep Eye Contact. Speak Slow. Speak Clear.

I have been to plenty of client meetings in my life as Graphic Designer. Way more than I’d like to count. And with all of those client meetings under my belt, I’m still amazed at how I’m filled with the jitters just before walking In. Keep eye contact. Speak slow. Speak clear. I’d remind myself… so that’s what I’ll do today as well.

A Well-Timed And Well-Deserved Text From A Potential Client.

Hey, do you have time to chat? I’m ready to move forward. This well-timed and well-deserved text from a potential client, that after 12 pm tomorrow will be my first big ticket client for my business and brand development company, Beach and Main. I am a one-man show for now, but not for long.

I love my job.

Keep Your Mission And Your Vision In Sight.

Keep Your Mission And Your Vision In Sight.

I sometimes have to remind myself that it’s okay to be proud of the progress I have made. When money posses a problem I give myself busy work to do, hoping something will come from it, but knowing nothing will. GO OUT! Live a bit more. Keep your mission and your vision in sight, but don’t forget to hold your head up to witness the good things going on around you, going on because of you. You deserve it!
