WASTING TIME

WASTING TIME

Stop stalling!

Stop making excuses, telling yourself that you’ll get to your dreams when all of the stars align because they won’t. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been a part of or overheard conversations with able-bodied people waiting for their moments, a moment that is going to change their whole life. This moment is going to make them rich beyond their dreams allowing them to do all of the things they’ve been waiting for all this time, there’s only one thing.

They haven’t gotten off their asses yet and started anything. Not one step, class taken, not even a damn google search of where they need to start aligning themselves with their goals. Nothing! Being a small business owner, I’ve not achieved all of my goals yet, I can tell you that it’s not a fast process.

Sometimes it feels like no progress at all. Slow and steady becomes a mantra for me in the beginning but that’s the only way. Slow. Steady. Consistently. Everyday. But stop stalling. Stop wasting TIME telling the world about your dreams and you’ve done nothing to prepare for it when it comes.

It’s not fair to get people on board with your ideas but when they show up to help you see it through, you haven’t done your part. If you’re serious about any of the things you dream about, take the necessary steps to get the ball rolling. Ask plenty of questions, take notes, and if slow and steady is the path for you, Go Slow. Because slow progress is better than no progress!

Good Luck!

EMPATHY

EMPATHY

What are your clients saying to you? What are their goals? How on board are they to put in the work to get what needs to be done on their end? How committed are they to themselves and their future they envision?

Problems easily remedied by paying attention and really listening to what their needs are. All clients are not created equally!

Understanding this concept has advanced my growth as a creative and a business owner. I’ve learned that not all clients are good communicators as others. And you will have to spend a lot of your time extracting information out of them. Other clients are more emotional than what we might be used to. They cling on to and associate every pitfall as something that is happening to them instead of because of them.

Some of them are type A and others are too non-confrontational. Whatever the case, I’ve learned that the best place to start with any client is EMPATHY. Taking that time to truly understand what they are saying to me, what mental space are they in at this current moment? What things are they confronted with that may be blocking any results?

Knowing better what makes your clients operate gives you the tools you need to break down who they are, what their mission and message are to the world and how you can help communicate that to the masses. So slow down. Listen to what’s being said and not just to what you’re hoping they say and care. Your clients will thank you for it and you’ll be better off because of it. Everybody wins.

Permission Granted.

Permission Granted.

Do whatever’s necessary to do something fun today. Find a reason to laugh today. A reason to collaborate and to build with others today. Lastly, find whatever it is that motivates you to stay focused on your goals/dreams and just do that today!

Afraid To Fail, Afraid To Succeed.

Afraid To Fail, Afraid To Succeed.

Give yourself time to fail, and fail often.

These missteps will allow you to get clear on the person you’re becoming. Mistakes and failure happen to the best of us. Look at them as the only true measure of progress.

We get one trip on this ride called life and what a shame it’ll be to wake up one day, old, tired, with less time left on the clock, full of regrets of things you passed up on because you were afraid to fail.

Lessons Learned

Lessons Learned

Nothing you learn today will benefit you today.

A lot of the time lessons seem to store themselves safely in your mind as memories and experiences. They will travel with you, disguising themselves as useless information waiting for the right opportunity to shine.

But look at how far you’ve come! What skills have you acquired? What successes and failures have taught you the most about how to move forward?

All of your scars, bumps and bruises, heartaches, and headaches you get today are preparing you to be better tomorrow.

It takes time to learn who we are and what we’re made to be doing in life. Mainly because we have conditioned and prepared to take action and do good things with whom we’re becoming today.

So if all of these lessons reveal themselves over time, is there not a better time to get started than right now?! Nope, so get at it!
